Inivitation: How to implement award winning education tactics in your course?


We herewith would like to kindly invite you our workshop: DuaVivo - SecondLife at the UM

This workshop is part of a project that set out to introduce and implement SecondLife at the UM (http://duavivo.blogspot.com/).  In 2009 a project, referred to as "Brand Management in SecondLife”, which forms the basis for the current project, has won the UM's Education Prize in 2009: For more information please visit: www.secondlifebrandmanagement.nl. Implementing Secondlife in Education has proven to be not only exciting for students but also offers a whole new way of learning!

The workshop will be offered on the 22nd of March, 2011:
Inner-City from 12:30 – 16:00.

More specifically, the workshop will be organized as follows:
12:30 – 13:00 Welcome (including Lunch)
13:00 – 14:00 Lecture
14:00 – 14:15 Coffee Break
14:15 – 15:30 Break-Out Session
15:30 – 16:00 Closing Session

Location: Tongersestraat 53, C -1.03

During the workshop, we will cover the following questions:
·        What is SecondLife?
·        How can SecondLife be used in higher education?
·        What is the added-value of SecondLife in education?
§         Showing student reactions and evaluations.
·        Why tools such as SecondLife are the future of education!

Moreover, in order to help us prepare for the workshop and to customize the content to your needs and requests, we would like to kindly ask you to answer the following questions:
·        Do you have a particular course where you are considering to use SecondLife for example as a simulation tool?
·        Do you have any particular questions on how to implement certain activities in SecondLife?
·        In case you already might have specific questions, please do not hesitate to share them with us as well.
